Floods block east coast rail line
Trains on the East Coast Main Line are facing major disruption
Heavy rain has caused major disruption on services between Edinburgh and London King's Cross.
National Express and CrossCountry services were suspended for a time between Berwick-Upon-Tweed and Edinburgh due to flooding near Dunbar.
The line later reopened but passengers faced delays while services got back to normal.
The poor weather also caused long delays on east coast services at Grantham in Lincolnshire.
Flood warning were in place in large parts of Scotland with a severe warning issued for the River Tyne at Haddington
The wet weather was forecast to sweep north into the Highlands with a warning in place of heavy rainfall into Friday morning.
The emergency services were called to a four-vehicle crash on the A90 northbound between Newtonhill and Portlethen in Aberdeenshire on Thursday morning.
The Scottish Ambulance Service said there did not appear to be any serious injuries.
Grampian Police Insp Graham Sloan said: "Motorists should always take account of the road conditions and modify their driving accordingly.
"In very wet weather, visibility can be affected and stopping distances are increased."
