Lightning flashes amidst power outages
Stop lights were out through the Miami Valley
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Drivers had to take it extra slow after we had plenty of wind, rain, and lightning.
Nature's light was been on display all morning long across the Miami Valley, and while the bolts can look beautiful, they can have some ugly consequences.
A pole that was likely sparked by lightning in Englewood left some people in the dark, including the Walmart.
In some cases, stop lights were out, like those at the intersections of S.R. 49 and Hoke Rd., and Hoke Rd. and Smith Dr.
Dayton Power and Light crews were out trying to repair some of the damage. Crews reported around 790 power outages across the area, and within the time span of one hour, they were bumped up to 2800 outages.
