30 people hurt on flight from Vietnam to France
9 people are taken to a hospital after flight lands
Some passengers did not put on seat belts during turbulence, spokeswoman says
Paris, France (CNN) -- Strong turbulence injured 30 people on a Vietnam Airlines flight that landed here Wednesday morning, an airline spokeswoman said.
Nine people were taken to a hospital and the rest suffered minor injuries, the spokeswoman said.
The plane took off from Hanoi, Vietnam and suffered strong turbulence about two and a half hours after taking off.
Even though passengers were instructed to put on seat belts, some did not, the spokeswoman said.
The pilot determined that the passengers' injuries were not major enough to return to Hanoi. Ambulances were waiting when the plane landed at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport in surburban Paris.
