Volcanic ash.. ( BBC)

Volcanic ash cloud blown back across UK

AdvertisementThe latest information received by the UK Met Office from the Icelandic Meteorological Office has confirmed that activity from the Eyjafjallajokull volcano has increased, resulting in an increase in ash over UK airspace.

The current weather situation means that a north to north-westerly flow is carrying ash from Iceland to the British Isles.

Through the rest of Wednesday winds are forecast to change to a more northerly then north-easterly direction, reducing the risk of ash in UK airspace from Thursday by pushing it out over the Atlantic Ocean.
