Dozens of schools close after heavy snow
Children have been taking advantage of the snow in Aberdeenshire
Many schools have been closed on Monday, including all of those across Shetland, due to the latest snap of winter weather.
Northern Constabulary said that although main Shetland roads were passable with care, some side routes were blocked.
In Aberdeenshire, there were 102 schools closed or partially closed.
Snow and ice have been causing travel problems across parts of the north, north east, Highlands and islands.
Some pupils in outlying areas of Caithness also have the day off due to the weather.
