Weerswaarschuwingen Engeland

LONDON (Reuters) - Drivers are being warned to take extra care on roads with bitterly cold weather predicted to hit many parts of England this week.

The Highways Agency said snow was expected to fall over the south Midlands and central southern England from Wednesday to Friday.

Thursday is expected to feel especially cold, with a significant wind-chill factor.

The agency advised drivers to check forecasts before setting out and make sure they have plenty of fuel for their journey. It said they should delay travelling if the weather becomes severe.

Drivers should allow more room for slowing down and stopping, the agency said, warning that it can take ten times as long to come to a halt when roads are icy.
