Freeze warnings issued for central U.S.


(AP) -- An arctic airmass was expected to continue chilling the central portion of the country Thursday.
The anticipated cold temperatures have prompted freeze warnings and frost advisories from eastern Colorado through western Pennsylvania. Snow was expected in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and parts of the upper Midwest.
Rain was forecast in parts of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Showers and thunderstorms were possible along the Gulf Coast.
Isolated showers were forecast for the West Coast.
Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Wednesday ranged from a low of 17 degrees at Burgess Junction, Wyoming, to a high of 93 degrees at Parker, Arizona.
