Wintry storm to hit Colorado, Utah



Winter storm warnings were expected in parts of Colorado and Utah on Wednesday, and forecasters predicted heavy rain in New England and snow in mountainous parts of the Northwest.
Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms were expected in New England ahead of a cold front, including periods of heavy rain. The bad weather was expected to taper off in the Mid-Atlantic, except on the coast.
Scattered thunderstorms were expected in Florida.
Forecasters predicted cooler temperatures from the Great Lakes to the Great Plains. Snow advisories and winter storms warnings for Colorado and Utah.
Light to moderate snow was expected in parts of Nebraska, Iowa and Minnesota, with light rains from the Great Lakes to the Texas Panhandle.
Farther west, rain and mountain snow was expected in parts of the Pacific Northwest.
In the Southwest, light rain and isolated thunderstorms were expected in parts. Scattered showers and thunderstorms were expected in areas of Texas and the lower Mississippi Valley.
Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Tuesday ranged from a low of 20 degrees at West Yellowstone, Montana, to a high of 97 degrees at Laredo, Texas.
