India overtroffen door extreme hitte

India heat wave persists

Temperatures reached 50°C in the Vidharbha region of India earlier this week and topped 40°C in many other areas. At least three people have died from the stifling conditions which have persisted for the past two weeks.

Forecasters at the India Meteorological Department are predicting a drop in temperatures over the next few days as changes in wind direction bring showers.
