Amerkikaanse weerstation geeft weeralarm af diverse staten VS in verband met sneeuwstormen

Winter storm expected in the USA by Rob McElwee
The USA is expecting a major winter storm this weekend which could bring some very heavy snowfall across many states.

A deep low pressure system, currently over Baja California, is tracking northeast towards the Rockies and central northern parts of the USA. The system is then expected to draw up moisture from the Gulf of Mexico and will drive it northwards where it will encounter a mass of cold air, which is lying across the Canadian Prairies. These two air masses are expected to collide within the low around the Upper Midwest.

The National Weather Service has issued warnings and expects snowfall totals ranging from 15 to 30cm (6 to 12 inches), especially across parts of Colorado. Heavy snow is expected in Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin as the low moves into the Eastern Great Lakes late on Saturday. By Sunday the storm is expected to have reached parts of the Northeast USA.
