Man injured in lightning strike
A 56-year-old man has been taken to hospital after lightning struck his house in Staffordshire.
The man was standing by a washing machine in the kitchen in Haig Close, Hednesford, when lightning struck during a downpour on Monday evening.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said he said he had felt the bolt strike but did not show any obvious marks.
He was assessed and treated with oxygen. His condition is stable and non-life-threatening, the service said.
A 16-year-old boy suffered serious burns when he was struck by lightning in a park in Birmingham over the weekend.
