Severe weather warning for NI
Up to 10cm of snow is expected on higher ground
The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning because of heavy snow moving into the west of Northern Ireland on Christmas Day.
Two to five cm are expected in low lying areas inland with up to 10 cm on higher ground.
The weather will move across county Fermanagh but will eventually reach all parts.
Motorists are being warned to take particular care when driving on icy roads.
Stephen Smith from the Roads Service said gritting lorries would be working across Northern Ireland on Christmas Day.
He said quieter roads presented challenges for his team.
"One of the problems I envisage is the lack of traffic on the road throughout today. With lack of traffic there isn't an opportunity for the snow to get mixed up with the salt and turn to slush."
