Japan: Control center's problem causes delays at Tokyo airports

18-Feb-2008 11:17:51 AM (GMT) TOKYO, Feb. 18 (Kyodo) _ The flight schedules at Haneda airport in Tokyo and Narita international airport to the east of the city were disrupted Monday afternoon due to trouble at the Tokyo air traffic control center, its officials said.

The radar at the control center, which comes under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, failed to indicate flight numbers and altitudes for almost two hours through 6:13 p.m., they said.

The control center is located in Tokorozawa, Saitama Prefecture.
