Flash Floods Hit Shah Alam
SHAH ALAM, Feb 27 (Bernama) -- Heavy rain for an hour this evening caused flash floods in several areas here but did not necessitate evacuation.
Shah Alam City Council liaison officer Shahrin Ahmad said the areas included Sections 2, 4, 13, 31, Kampung Sungai Kuning, Sungai Rasau, Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) Jaya and several housing estates in Batu 3.
"We mobilised the City Council machinery to monitor developments and sent food to every residents' association in the affected areas," he said.
The Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Kota Anggerik state seat, Datuk Ahmad Nawawi M. Zin, toured the affected areas to monitor the situation.
