Snow storm sweeps across New England
Heavy snow lashed across the US region of New England on Wednesday, as another wintry storm made its way across eastern parts of America. A number of seasonal records were broken by the snowfall, with a foot (12 inches) falling in parts of Vermont and New Hampshire.
Concord in New Hampshire had already set a record for the snowiest December, January and February, with the storm pushing the total for the three months to 97.5 inches (8 foot). The intensity of snow fall in this region so far this season has made it the 10th snowiest winter on record.
Parts of eastern New York also experienced the snow, with nearly a foot (12 inches) falling in the Albany area, forcing the closure of a number of roads and schools. Snow also blew across the Ohio Valley and further south over Kentucky, and Tennessee.
With another area of low pressure heading towards the north-east, New England looks set to receive yet more snow in the first week of March.
