More rain forecast for drenched New England
(AP) -- Forecasters predicted rain for the West Coast and the Northeast on Friday.
Rain was expected to move from the Mid-Atlantic and into already rain-soaked New England.
The system may cause flooding in some low-lying areas.
A low-pressure system was expected to move ashore on the West Coast, bringing moderate rains first to northern California and Oregon before moving into the northern Rockies.
Elsewhere, scattered showers and thunderstorms were forecast in the Midwest, while the South was expected to be warm with few clouds.
Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Thursday ranged from a low of 31° at Stanley, Idaho, to a high of 116° at Death Valley, California.
