ATLANTIC STORM WATCH

As the Hurricane season continues, John Hammond takes a look at the projected track of the storms that are currently out over the Atlantic. The satellite picture shows a string of storms lining up across Africa and heading out to the west.

Two storms already out over the ocean are Hurricane Danielle and Tropical Storm Earl. Danielle is currently a category 2 hurricane (out of a possible 5 on the Saffir-Simpson scale) which means it's likely to produce wind gusts between 77 and 106 mph.

Its currently heading north towards Bermuda, although it's forecast to pass to the east of the island nation and remain in open water.

Further south, Tropical Storm Earl is expected to gain in strength to hurricane force by the weekend. It's progressing on a more westerly track towards the Caribbean before curving away in a more north-westerly direction. It could pose a more significant risk to Bermuda than Danielle and is definitely one to watch.
